June Festivals
As you know, I love being out and about in Richmond. Richmond has so much to offer for summer activities, so take advantage of the sunny weather and get to one of these fun festivals this June.
June 4
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic at Innsbrook After Hours— There’s nothing like an outdoor music series to get your weekends started! This coming weekend, the classic funk band comes to town! Tickets start at $15, gates at 5pm.
June 5
First Friday Sampler at The Visual Arts Center of Richmond—
Have a date night, a girls night or a fun family night by taking sample courses for super cheap. Not to mention there will be food trucks! First come first serve sign-up starts at 5pm, entry ranges from $5-$15.
June 6
Ashland Strawberry Antique Faire at the Henry Clay Shopping Center— The Strawberry Faire is put on every year by Hickory Creek Antiques. From 10am-6pm find deals and steals on antiques, vintage and collectibles.
Stone Soul Music & Food Festival at the Richmond International Raceway—
The name says it all! Soul food and Soul music, what could be better? Faith Evans, The Migos, Biz Markie and Jodeci, among other great acts, will be performing. Gates open at 12pm event goes from 1pm-8pm. Tickets available on etix.com.
June 14
Richmond Bacon Festival at the 17th Street Farmer’s Market—
Hosted by Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company, Brown Distributing and the 17th Street Farmer’s Market. This festival will feature over 40 Richmond restaurants and food trucks bringing you BACON. There will be live music and admission is free. All proceeds benefit Enrichmond, a foundation serving Richmond’s people, parks and public spaces. From 11am-5pm.
June 18
Festival of the Laugh at Buffalo Wild Wings—
Crown the Funniest Stand Up Comedian in Virginia in this 3-day contest held at the West Broad Location of Buffalo Wild Wings. From June 18-20. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
June 19
Fathers’ Day Weekend at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens—
Enjoy a weekend of family activities to celebrate Dad! From June 19-20, join in the activities that include remote control sailboats, garden tours and free music! Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 1-4pm. Visit lewisginter.org/event/fathers-day-weekend for more details.
June 20
Annual Richmond Vegetarian Festival in the Azalea Gardens at Bryan Park—
Coming up on its 13th year, this festival has gained immense popularity among Richmonders no matter what their diet. Music, vegetarian food and fun! Held from 12pm-6pm, admission is free.
